How to choose a healthy puppy and what to ask a breeder

Buying a Rottweiler is a wonderful experience, but the health and wellbeing of your new family member must always come first. As Aria Ranch Rottweilers we are dedicated to breeding quality Rottweilers in a supportive environment for all families, so we have prepared this short guide for you.

Caring for healthy joints and what HD and ED mean

In larger breeds such as Rottweilers, hip (HD) and elbow (ED) health is extremely important. These abbreviations simply mean joint X-rays of the puppy's parents, proving that their joints are healthy and strong. A responsible breeder regularly and rigorously health-tests their dogs and will gladly show you the results. We ensure complete transparency regarding health, including strict HD and ED testing. When you are interested, we are always happy to present and explain this data.

Veterinary care and first vaccinations

Do not hesitate to ask the breeder how vaccinations and internal parasite control are handled. Before a puppy goes to a new home, it must have its health booklet and be properly vaccinated and examined according to veterinary rules.

Why a pedigree matters so much

An official pedigree is not just a paper for dog shows — it serves as the dog's identity card. It is a guarantee that the puppy truly comes from proven, healthy and quality bloodlines. This document gives you traceability: you know exactly who your dog's ancestors are and that they met strict health and character standards. Buying a dog without a pedigree carries a high risk of hidden health problems, so we advise against buying a puppy without official documentation.

Warning signs when choosing a breeder

If a breeder will not show health results or dodges your questions about health and care, be cautious. Trust only breeders who are open, honest and let you see the environment in which the puppies grow up.

Our vision

At Aria Ranch we unite love for the breed with family values. Because we raise our dogs in contact with nature and children, we ensure excellent early socialization of puppies. Our goal is to bring a confident, balanced and healthy lifelong companion into your home.
